French Onion Soup

Well... this isn't exactly a new recipe. It's actually a favorite recipe of ours. But since the "new" recipes are a little scarce this year, I thought I'd share it.

INGREDIENTS:

¼ cup butter

2-3 large yellow onions, sliced

1 cup dry white wine

3 cans (14 oz) beef broth

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

½ tsp salt

½ tsp dry thyme leaves

French bread, sliced

Provolone cheese

DIRECTIONS:

Melt butter in large skillet. Add onions and cook until brown. Stir in wine. Combine onion mixture, beef broth, Worcestershire, salt and thyme in slow cooker.

Cook 4 hours on low.

Serve with bread and cheese on top, broiled in oven to melt cheese.

VERDICT:

Well, I pretty much already gave you the verdict. This soup doesn't take many ingredients, cooks all by itself while you're doing other stuff, and tastes great.
